A Sucessful Raytheon Project

On 2-15-09, Raytheon Presented PGM with an achievement award for our outstanding service to the completion of the Zumwalt program.

This Zumwalt program involves the building of the DDG 1000 Zumwalt-Class Destroyer, which is America’s next generation, multi-mission surface combat destroyer ships.

PGM started this partnership with Raytheon over a year ago, by receiving orders to manufacture 36 different complex components.   PGM was successful in proving these components on time and to the print specifications.

Early in 2009, Raytheon approached PGM to make modifications to several components within a two week window. These design changes were on the critical components were absolutely necessary for the success of the program. The ultimate manufacturing challenge was to reduce our lead-time from 5-6 weeks to 2 weeks for two critical parts and the balance of parts within 3-4 wks.

PGM is dedicated to solving our customers’ greatest manufacturing challenges, so we were eager to achieve Raytheon’s desired due dates. PGM was successful in delivering these parts Raytheon, and even made a few early deliveries.

This award is a great accomplishment for all at PGM Corporation, and because of this performance, Raytheon will be awarding us another contract with the potential of more components in the near future. Thank you for all involved and we look forward to future challenges like this one.
